No. 6 Auburn’s scheduled baseball series opener against No. 7 Texas A&M was postponed due to significant rainfall, according to a May 1 announcement from the teams.
The postponement comes as heavy rain has already fallen in College Station, with forecasts predicting more throughout Friday. As a result, both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Central Time. The second game is set to begin at 5 p.m., or 45 minutes after the first game ends if it runs late.
Fans holding tickets for Saturday’s originally scheduled game can use them for the first game of the doubleheader, while tickets for Friday’s postponed contest will be honored for the second game on Saturday. Blue Bell Park will be cleared between games to accommodate fans attending each matchup.
The final game of the series remains scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., and all three games are set to be streamed digitally on SEC Network+.
The change in schedule aims to ensure player safety and provide an opportunity for both teams to complete their Southeastern Conference matchups despite weather disruptions.
