The Auburn baseball team reported on Mar. 9 that it has extended its winning streak to six games, improving its overall record to 13-2 after a week of four consecutive victories. The Tigers secured wins against Samford and swept Winthrop in a three-game series.
This update highlights the team’s momentum as it prepares for upcoming matchups against UAB and Missouri. Auburn’s recent success is marked by both offensive and pitching achievements, with several players recognized for their contributions during the week.
Outfielder Bristol Carter led the offense, posting a .571 batting average and scoring seven runs over three games. Carter has now scored in ten straight games and ranks tied for fourth in the league with 24 runs in 14 games played. Catcher/infielder Chase Fralick contributed seven hits across four games, including his fourth home run of the season, while freshman Mason McCraine drove in six runs and collected hits in all four contests.
On the mound, Jackson Sanders delivered a career-best performance with seven scoreless innings and ten strikeouts against Winthrop. Jake Marciano added his second quality start of the season, pitching six shutout innings in the series opener. Andreas Alvarez earned his first win of the year with five scoreless innings versus Samford.
Team statistics reflect Auburn’s strong start: this is their best opening since beginning the 2019 season at 20-2. The Tigers have won twelve straight regular season home series dating back to late 2024, marking their longest such streak since 1998-2000. Over last week’s four games, Auburn outscored opponents 30-3 and posted a team ERA of just 0.53 while striking out 38 batters and issuing only five walks.
Looking ahead, Auburn will face UAB at home before traveling to Missouri for a weekend series as they aim to continue their early-season success.
