The Auburn baseball team reported on Mar. 30 that it holds an overall record of 20-7 following a challenging week, with one win and three losses. The team is currently on a three-game losing streak and has a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record of 4-5.

This update comes as Auburn continues to face strong competition, with upcoming games scheduled against No. 3 Georgia Tech and No. 15 Arkansas. The schedule includes a Tuesday game at Georgia Tech and a home series against Arkansas from Thursday through Saturday.

Chase Fralick was named Player of the Week after tying for the team lead in hits, including two doubles over four games played last week. Fralick started the scoring in Tuesday’s win over South Alabama with an RBI double and led the team in hits during the weekend series at Alabama. He has reached base in all but one game this season.

Pitchers Andreas Alvarez and Alex Petrovic were recognized for their performances last week. Alvarez earned his fourth consecutive midweek win by pitching seven scoreless innings against South Alabama, retiring 13 of the last 14 batters he faced and maintaining his position as SEC leader in ERA at 0.85. Petrovic allowed only one run across five innings at Alabama, marking his fourth start this season allowing one earned run or less over five or more innings pitched.

Team notes highlight that Auburn’s shutout victory over South Alabama was its fourth this season, all within a recent twelve-game span, bringing them close to matching last year’s total number of shutouts. Starting pitchers recorded strong numbers last week with a combined ERA of 1.59 across nearly twenty-three innings pitched, while starters have gone at least five innings in twenty-two out of twenty-seven games so far this season.

Looking ahead, Auburn faces an extended stretch against ranked teams—eighteen out of twenty games between Mar. 17 and Apr. 18 are set against top-ranked opponents—and begins an eight-game homestand starting April second.
