Auburn University’s diving team delivered strong performances at the Georgia Tech Invite held at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta. The Tigers achieved three event wins and recorded two top-10 program marks during the meet.
Head diving coach John Fox expressed satisfaction with his team’s results, stating, “I could not have asked for a better effort on the boards from this group of Tigers.” All eight Auburn divers advanced to finals in the opening session.
In men’s 3-meter competition, Ethan Swart led with a preliminary score of 373.70, followed by Ben Wilson at 343.20 and Talan Blackmon at 330.00. Swart posted a final round score of 392.10 to finish third overall, moving him to ninth all-time in Auburn’s program history. Wilson placed fourth with 375.15 and Blackmon finished fifth at 367.25.
The women’s team dominated the 1-meter finals, filling all available spots with Emily Hallifax (278.55), Maria Faoro (269.75), Kyleigh Kidd (268.95), Chloe Brothers (264.75), and Juliette Landi (259.00). Hallifax secured second place overall with a score of 296.70; Kidd, Landi, Brothers, and Faoro completed positions five through eight.
Freshman Juliette Landi took first place in women’s 3-meter qualifying with a score of 344.25, which placed her sixth in school history for that event. She went on to win the final with a score of 335.50.
Swart also competed in men’s 1-meter, earning first place in qualifying with a score of 364.70 and winning the final with a mark of 370.25.
During platform events, Swart finished second among men with a score of 354.00; Blackmon took eighth at 308.75 and Wilson was eleventh at 270.45.
On the women’s side, Hallifax won the platform event with a score of 301.30; Brothers finished seventh at 215.30 while Faoro and Landi placed fourteenth and sixteenth respectively.
Coach Fox praised his athletes’ consistency throughout the competition: “I could not have asked for a better effort on the boards from this group of Tigers.”
