Auburn falls to top-ranked Oklahoma in road gymnastics meet

No. 15 Auburn University’s women’s gymnastics team faced No. 1 Oklahoma in a Southeastern Conference meet on Friday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Auburn was defeated by Oklahoma with a final score of 197.975 to 196.150.

Head coach Jeff Graba commented on the team’s performance, saying, “We fought really hard today and I thought we did an overall good job regardless of what the scores say. I thought it was a fairly good performance for us today and we’ll just get back to practice this week to get ready for the next one.”

Auburn began the competition on bars, scoring 49.175 points. Juniors Emma Grace Boyd and Olivia Greaves stood out; Boyd achieved a career-high score of 9.9, while Greaves posted her season best with a 9.875. Junior Alex Irvine anchored with a score of 9.825, sophomore Katelyn Jong earned a 9.8, and Huff closed out the rotation with a 9.775.

The vault event proved strong for Auburn as the team scored 49.300 points. Sophomore Marissa Neal and freshman Brynn Torry each reached career highs with scores of 9.9, while junior Paige Zancan recorded a team-best 9.925 to share the vault title for the night. Freshman Mia Leverton contributed with a score of 9.8 and Huff added another routine scoring 9.775.

On floor exercise during the third rotation, Neal led Auburn with a team-high score of 9.85; Greaves and Huff both contributed scores of 9.825 each, sophomore Olivia Ahern added a score of 9.775, and sophomore Bryn Bartman started off with a score of 9.6.

In their final rotation on beam, Neal anchored again—this time earning a score of 9.875—while Irvine scored a close second at 9.85 points; Huff tallied another routine at 9.775 points, Hagle followed with a routine worth 9.75 points, and Greaves completed her turn scoring at 9.55.

Huff and Greaves competed as all-arounders for Auburn in this meet; Huff finished with an all-around total of 39.150 while Greaves ended at 38.925.

Auburn will return home for its next competition against No.11 Michigan State in Neville Arena on March 6 at 7 p.m CT before heading to Huntsville for Elevate the Stage quad meet against No .6 Georgia , No .13 Clemson ,and Pitt at Von Braun Center on March 8 .
