The Auburn gymnastics team is ranked No. 17 nationally this week, with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.464.
Oklahoma leads the national rankings with an NQS of 197.943. LSU holds the second spot at 197.836, followed by Alabama in third place with a score of 197.586. Florida and UCLA round out the top five, scoring 197.517 and 197.382 respectively.
Within the Southeastern Conference, several teams are also featured in the top 25: Georgia is ranked sixth, Missouri seventh, Arkansas eighth, and Kentucky twenty-second.
Auburn’s vault squad has moved up to No. 10 nationally after earning a score of 49.3 against Oklahoma on Friday, bringing their NQS to 49.196 for that event. The beam team is currently ranked No. 13 with a score of 49.211, while the floor team stands at No. 20 this week with a score of 49.182.
Individually, junior Julianne Huff is tied for twenty-fourth in the all-around competition with an NQS of 39.295.
Sophomore Marissa Neal shares eighteenth place on beam with a score of 9.895, and junior Alex Irvine is tied for thirty-second in that event at 9.880.
Auburn will return home for a non-conference meet against Michigan State, which holds the eleventh national ranking; this match will take place at Neville Arena on March 6 at 7 p.m Central Time.
Following that contest, Auburn will travel to Huntsville for the Elevate the Stage quad meet on March 8 at Von Braun Center starting at 3 p.m Central Time; opponents include Georgia (No.6), Clemson (No.18), and Pitt.
