Auburn men’s golf tied for third after opening round at The Hayt

Auburn University’s men’s golf team is tied for third place after the first round of The Hayt tournament at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The team finished Saturday’s round with a score of 9-under-par.

Three Auburn players contributed subpar rounds. Junior Jackson Koivun shot a 4-under, junior Cayden Pope carded a 3-under, and freshman Logan Reilly posted a 2-under. Koivun is currently tied for seventh place individually, trailing Duke’s William Love by two strokes.

The overall team standings have LSU in first place at 14-under-par. Virginia holds second place with a score of 12-under-par. Auburn shares third place with Alabama, both teams sitting at 9-under-par.
