The Auburn men’s tennis team announced on March 26 that it will host two important Southeastern Conference matches this weekend at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. The Tigers, ranked No. 23 nationally, are set to play No. 7 LSU on Friday at 3 p.m. Central Time and No. 16 South Carolina on Sunday at noon.

These matches are significant for Auburn as they look to improve their standing in the conference after a challenging road trip last weekend, where they lost to No. 17 Oklahoma and Arkansas. The Tigers currently hold a 14-5 overall record and are tied for seventh place in the SEC with a conference record of 4-4.

Head coach Bobby Reynolds said, “We’ve had great homestands this season, and we’ve been very successful whether it’s indoors or outdoors at home.” He added, “I’m looking for that comfort in how we play on our courts from an emotional standpoint. From a tennis standpoint, I want us to really buy into the X’s and O’s of what we need to do to be successful.”

LSU enters Friday’s match with a strong record of 20-4 overall and is tied for third in the SEC with a conference mark of 6-3. LSU recently achieved a notable win over No. 2 Texas but lost its latest match against Mississippi State.

South Carolina holds an overall record of 11-5 this season and shares Auburn’s conference standing at 4-4. The Gamecocks recently ended a three-match losing streak by defeating Kentucky.

Auburn leads the all-time series against South Carolina but lost their most recent meeting last season in Columbia.

Special events are planned for fans attending both matches: Kids Club Day will take place Friday with popsicles available while supplies last, followed by a kids clinic featuring Auburn coaches and players; Sunday will feature an Auburn tennis bundle raffle during the match.

Live video coverage and scoring will be available online through AuburnTigers.com, where additional fan information can also be found.
