AUBURN, Ala.– The Auburn Public Library invites the community to enjoy the summer with entertaining programs beginning in June. There will be programs for all ages, ranging from infants to adults.

  • Toon Time: Mondays in June and July at 10 a.m.
    • Enjoy a 30-minute, family-friendly cartoon.
  • Movie Matinee: Mondays in June and July at 2 p.m.
    • Enjoy a full-length, family-friendly movie.
  • Summer Serendipity:Tuesdays in June and July at 2 p.m.
    • A variety of interactive, fun performers will visit the library including the Southeastern Raptor Center, Bright Star Children’s Theatre and Doc Magic.
  • Summer Crafternoons: Wednesdays in June and July at 2 p.m.
    • Cool off inside while making a fun arts and crafts project. Supplies will be provided.
  • Hometown Heroes:Thursdays in June and July at 2 p.m.
    • Visit with hometown heroes, explore various careers and have hands-on fun learning more about what they do to make Auburn a great place to live, work and play. Guests include Auburn Fire, Auburn Police, Environmental Services and more.
  • Family Story Time on Location!: Thursdays in June and July at 6 p.m. at the Boykin Community Center
  • Puppet Shows: Fridays at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Story Time is getting a makeover with these amazing programs:

  • Baby’s 1st Story Time: Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m.
    • Early literacy story time for our youngest friends, ages birth to 12 months old, and their favorite grown-ups.
  • Lullabies for Little Ones:Thursdays at 1 p.m.
    • Calm, sensory-friendly early literacy story time for our friends, ages birth to 2 years old, and their favorite grown-ups.
  • Toddler Tales: Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.
    • Early literacy story time for our friends, ages 1 to 2 years old and their favorite grown-ups.
  • Movers & Shakers:Saturdays at 1 p.m.
    • Highly interactive early literacy story time for our friends, birth to 5 years old, and their favorite grown-ups incorporating loads of music, movement and stories.
  • Untidy Tales: Wednesdays at 1 p.m. & Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
    • Early literacy story time for our friends, ages 2 to 5 years old, and their favorite grown-ups incorporating messy and sensory play with stories and music.
  • Preschool Story Time:Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.
    • Early literacy story time for our friends, ages 3 to 5 years old, and their favorite grown-ups.
  • Pre-K in PJs:Tuesdays at 1 p.m.
    • Calm, sensory-friendly early literacy story time for our friends, ages 3 to 5 years old, and their favorite grown-ups. Participants are invited (but not required) to come to story time dressed in their comfiest pajamas.
  • Family Story Time:Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.
    • Families with young children will enjoy stories, music and activities.

Teens and Tweens are invited to:

  • Culture Explorers Club: Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.
    • Rising 4th-6th graders are invited to explore a different culture each week.
  • #TEENTRENDS: Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.
    • Rising 7th-12th graders are invited to explore a different topic each week, from anime and manga to gaming and more.

Adults are invited to:

  • Adult Crafting: June 3 and July 8 at 2 p.m. Registration required. To register, email Library Events.
    • June 3: Family Tree Wall Art. Learn genealogical research tips while creating your family tree wall art project.
    • July 8: Canvas Painting. Enjoy snacks as you follow step-by-step instructions to create your own masterpiece.
  • “How-To” Series (Adults & Teens 16+):Tuesdays in June and July at 4 p.m.
    • Adults and teens 16+ explore a different “how-to” topic each week! Find topics on the library’s online calendar.
  • Author Talk: “The Bitter and the Sweet” by Anessa Kent: June 8 at 4 p.m.
    • Author Anessa Kent will discuss her debut novel, “The Bitter and the Sweet” followed by a meet-and-greet and book signing.
  • Reader’s Review Virtual Book Club:June 20 and July 18 at 5:30 p.m.
