Auburn freshman guard Harissoum Coulibaly has been named SEC Freshman of the Week for women’s basketball, according to an announcement from the conference office on Tuesday.

Coulibaly led Auburn in scoring last week, averaging 15.0 points over two games. In her first career start against Middle Tennessee, she scored a team-high 16 points, making 8 of 11 shots and sharing the team lead with four assists. Two days later, she contributed 14 points off the bench in a win over Alcorn, along with four steals, three rebounds, and two assists.

For the season so far, Coulibaly is Auburn’s leading scorer at 11.4 points per game and has come off the bench in all but one of the team’s 13 games. She also leads the team in field goal percentage at 56 percent.

This marks Coulibaly’s first SEC weekly honor. She shares this week’s Freshman of the Week award with LSU’s Grace Knox.

Auburn will finish non-conference play on Monday, December 29 by hosting Jackson State at Neville Arena. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
