Auburn men’s basketball Head Coach Steven Pearl announced on Mar. 31 the signing of Narcisse Ngoy, a 7-foot center from France, to join the team for the 2026-27 season.
The addition of Ngoy is expected to strengthen Auburn’s roster by addressing a key need in size and physicality. Pearl said, “We’re excited to welcome Narcisse Ngoy to our program. He’s a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality, and a team-first mindset to everything he does.” Pearl also noted that Ngoy has “a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor,” and praised his ability to finish around the basket and protect the rim.
Ngoy has been recognized as one of the most dominant players in France’s Elite 2 League this season. He averaged 10.8 points per game while leading the league in rebounds (11.5), blocks (2.5), and efficiency rating (21.2). He also shot 70 percent from the field during his campaign.
Highlighting his rebounding skills, Ngoy recorded three of this season’s top single-game performances with totals of 21, 19, and 16 rebounds respectively. His best mark for blocks in a single game was six.
Pearl further emphasized Ngoy’s approach: “What stands out the most is his commitment to winning. He’s not focused on individual numbers—he takes pride in doing the hard, physical work that helps his team succeed,” he said.
Looking ahead, Auburn will conclude its current season by competing for an NIT Championship this weekend in Indianapolis, facing Illinois State in Thursday’s semifinals at 8:30 p.m., which will be broadcast on ESPN.
