Taylor Chism, a senior from Auburn University’s 2025 class, has signed a professional contract with Tampa Bay Sun FC. This move makes her the first in her class to secure a spot with a professional team. Tampa Bay Sun FC is the current champion of the USL Super League.
Chism expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout her career. “Signing my first pro contract means so much and is incredibly special, but it’s bigger than just me,” Chism said. “So many people, especially my parents, made sacrifices to help get me here, and I’m beyond grateful for that, which makes this moment just as much theirs as it is mine. I’m really excited to take this next step in my career and keep working.”
During her final year at Auburn, Chism served as team captain after transferring from NC State, where she played three seasons. She started all 18 matches in the fall season and played 1,554 minutes. Her defensive efforts helped Auburn limit most opponents to one goal or fewer in all but four games, including six shutouts. Offensively, she contributed two goals and two assists.
Tampa Bay Sun FC will start its title defense by hosting Spokane Zephyr on Saturday, January 31 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
