The Auburn Tigers, ranked No. 6, will play their last home midweek baseball game of the season against Alabama State on April 14 at Plainsman Park. The matchup marks the conclusion of an eight-game homestand for Auburn, which holds a record of 24-11 this season.
This game is significant as it leaves Auburn with only six remaining home games out of its final 18 regular-season contests. The team is coming off its fourteenth regular-season home series win in the last fifteen attempts since the end of the 2024 season.
Junior left-handed pitcher Griffin Graves is set to make his first career start for Auburn after debuting earlier in the season. Auburn’s starting pitchers have posted a combined earned run average (ERA) of 2.59 with 237 strikeouts and just 42 walks over more than 184 innings pitched so far this year. The pitching staff leads nationally in several categories, including strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.40), WHIP (1.15), and fewest walks allowed per nine innings (2.54). Offensively, Auburn scored a total of 27 runs on 38 hits during its recent series against Kentucky—both marks surpassing previous highs for Southeastern Conference matchups this year.
Auburn remains undefeated at 22-0 when outhitting opponents this season and has compiled a .887 winning percentage under similar circumstances over the past five years. At home, players are batting .309 and averaging more than seven runs per game.
Alabama State enters with an overall record of 18-16 and an eight-win tally in conference play after going unbeaten last week against South Alabama and Alabama A&M. Miguel Oropeza leads Alabama State offensively across most statistical categories while their pitching staff has registered a collective ERA of 6.54 through nearly three hundred innings pitched.
