Auburn University announced on Apr. 17 that the Board of Trustees has given final approval to the Jordan-Hare North Project, marking what officials describe as the largest capital investment in both Jordan-Hare Stadium and Auburn Athletics history.

The project is significant for Auburn students and fans, as it aims to improve not only football game days but also year-round campus life. John Cohen, Director of Athletics, said in a statement, “Today marks a defining moment, not only for athletics, but for the broader Auburn University and the student experience. It’s yet another example of Auburn earning the right to ‘dream the biggest dreams,’ as President Roberts would say.”

Cohen thanked university leaders and trustees for their support: “We are deeply grateful to the Board of Trustees, Dr. Roberts and Senior Vice President Bobby Woodard for their leadership and sharing in our vision and championing the Jordan-Hare North Project. Their support has made possible the largest capital investment in Jordan-Hare Stadium and Auburn Athletics history.” He added that every aspect of design was managed with Student Affairs leadership “to ensure the building can be used 365 days per year to add further value to the already enriched Auburn student experience.”

Key features will include new meeting rooms, dining facilities such as Shug’s Food Hall with four new dining concepts open to all fans, event spaces, retail venues, five additional entry gates, 66 concession points of sale, 13 elevators and 270 restroom fixtures. The project will also connect east and west upper deck ramps via Tiger’s Terrace atop Jordan-Hare North so upper deck ticket holders gain access to more amenities.

Cohen addressed concerns about stadium capacity by stating that it will remain at over 88,000 seats with potential growth as plans develop. Operational upgrades include two on-site concessions kitchens—replacing current off-site food preparation—which are expected to enhance efficiency during events.

He explained that increased premium seating is a major component: “Current demand exceeds 5,000 on waitlists and interest lists…This project will expand premium offerings to approximately 10% of total capacity.” The expansion brings Auburn closer in line with Southeastern Conference averages.

Looking ahead Cohen said: “As we launch the Ever Auburn capital campaign…we are grateful for Auburn people like Robin and Reid Dove whose leadership commitment…reflects this effort.” He invited supporters interested in participating or securing spots within Jordan-Hare North Project facilities to visit AuburnTigers.com/EverAuburn.

Concluding his message Cohen said: “Today is a great day in the life of Auburn University and thanks to each of you even greater days lie ahead.”
