Auburn Volleyball will play against Minnesota and Wisconsin as part of the inaugural Big Ten/SEC Challenge, according to a March 30 announcement. The matches are scheduled for September 2 and September 3 at the UW Fieldhouse in Madison, Wisconsin.

The event marks a significant moment for Auburn’s non-conference schedule, providing an early test against top teams from another major conference. Head coach Brent Crouch said, “These two matches will be an exciting test for us. The Big Ten and SEC have been two of the best, if not the best, volleyball conferences for a couple of years now.”

Crouch also noted the challenging atmosphere expected in Madison: “Madison will be loud and full of fans. What a great way for us to test ourselves early in the season in that type of environment.”

The challenge includes all 18 Big Ten schools and all 16 SEC institutions competing during the week of September 1. The event concludes with two high-profile matches at Wrigley Field on Sunday, September 6—marking the first time volleyball has been played at this historic venue. Nebraska will play Missouri, followed by Penn State facing Kentucky; both matches will air live on FOX.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said, “Bringing the SEC and Big Ten together for a championship-caliber volleyball showcase, culminating at an iconic venue like Wrigley Field, reflects the extraordinary momentum of the sport. This initiative not only elevates volleyball on a national stage but also underscores a continued growth and investment in women’s athletics.”

Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti added: “Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge Week culminating at Wrigley Field brings together the highest level of women’s volleyball competition, at one of the most iconic venues in the country. As women’s volleyball participation, sponsorship, attendance and viewership continue to grow, we look forward to providing this unique opportunity to showcase the exceptional competition.”
