Auburn University’s women’s basketball team ended its regular season with a 70-41 loss to Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena on Sunday. The defeat marks the close of the SEC regular season for Auburn, who will enter next week’s conference tournament as the No. 15 seed.

Auburn head coach Larry Vickers commented on his team’s performance, stating, “I thought (Arkansas) came out hungry, desperate and ready to play. I told them before the game that records don’t matter. We already struggle to win on the road. The hungrier team, the team that wants it the most, is going to be the team that wins. And, clearly, we weren’t close to as hungry as that Arkansas group was today.”

Harissoum Coulibaly led Auburn with 15 points and was the only player from her team to reach double figures in scoring. Kaitlyn Duhon collected seven rebounds while Ja’Mia Harris contributed three assists.

Auburn struggled offensively throughout the game, shooting just 28 percent from the field and converting only one of 20 attempts from beyond the arc. Turnovers were a significant issue; Auburn gave up possession 20 times, which Arkansas turned into 16 points. Despite this, Auburn held a slight edge in rebounding with a 40-39 advantage.

Arkansas shot 41.7 percent both overall and from three-point range. Wyvette Mayberry scored a season-high 25 points for Arkansas on her senior day, while Taleyah Jones added 18 points.

The Razorbacks established an early lead of 20-10 after one quarter and expanded their advantage to as much as 30 points in the fourth quarter. At halftime, Arkansas led by twelve following a low-scoring second period where both teams struggled offensively.

Looking ahead, Auburn will face Texas A&M—seeded tenth—in the first round of the SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. The matchup is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at 5 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on SEC Network and Auburn Sports Network.
