The Auburn women’s golf team, ranked No. 6, will participate in the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 23 and 24. The tournament will take place over two days, with teams playing the first two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.

The event is significant as Auburn aims to continue its strong season after winning its fifth team title of the year at the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play. This victory tied a program record for most team titles in a single season.

Head coach Melissa Luellen said, “Colonial is a traditional course. It’s tight off the tee and has small greens, so it’s a completely different style of golf course than Old Barnwell. Very challenging. We did play there last year, and we played well.” Luellen also highlighted a particularly difficult stretch of holes: “There’s a stretch of holes called the ‘Horrible Horseshoe,’ which includes holes three, four and five. We always have a challenge within the team to play those holes at 1-over par because it’s such a treacherous stretch, and they played it great. That was the key to the golf course, getting off to a good start.”

Last year at this tournament, Auburn golfer Anna Davis won the individual title with a final-round score of 64 (6-under), finishing at 9-under-par 201. The Tigers finished tied for third as a team with an overall score of 6-over-par 846.

Colonial Country Club is known for hosting major events such as the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge and has previously hosted championships including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. The course will be set up as a par-70 layout measuring 6,274 yards for this event.

Auburn will compete against several top-ranked teams including Stanford (No. 1), Texas A&M (No. 3), Texas (No. 5), Oregon (No. 7), Wake Forest (No. 8), Duke (No. 11), Mississippi State (No.16) and Arizona (No.22). Other participating schools are Tulane, SMU, Oklahoma State and Arizona.

The Auburn lineup features Anna Davis, Charlotte Cantonis, Molly Brown Davidson, Katie Cranston and Carys Worby; Anne Fernandez will compete as an individual entry.
