Auburn University’s women’s basketball team will host No. 23 Tennessee on Sunday at Neville Arena, marking the home opener for their Southeastern Conference (SEC) schedule. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m. CT, with doors opening an hour earlier.

The Tigers currently hold an 11-4 record and are seeking to recover from a recent conference loss to Mississippi State. In that game, junior forward Quanirah Montague made her season debut after missing the non-conference schedule due to injury, contributing seven points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.

Tennessee enters the matchup with a 9-3 overall record and a win over Florida in their SEC opener. The Lady Vols rank among the top teams nationally in several statistical categories, including scoring offense (27th), three-pointers attempted per game (2nd), and steals per game (17th). Talaysia Cooper leads Tennessee in scoring with an average of 14.7 points per game.

Tickets for Sunday’s contest are available through AUBTix.com or at the Neville Arena ticket office on gameday. SEC Sunday Mini-Plans offer admission to multiple games including those against Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, and LSU. Members of Aubie’s Kids Club receive free entry to all home women’s basketball games.

Radio coverage will be provided by Brit Bowen and Larry DiChiara on ESPN 106.7 FM starting at 6:15 p.m. CT; fans can also listen via AuburnTigers.com or the Auburn Athletics app. The television broadcast will air on SEC Network with Matt Schick and Andrea Lloyd as commentators.

Reflecting on their last outing against Mississippi State, Kaitlyn Duhon matched her career-high with seven steals alongside ten points for Auburn. Harissoum Coulibaly led scoring for the Tigers with fourteen points.

A win over Tennessee would improve Auburn’s home record this season to 8-1 and mark their first victory over a ranked opponent since the previous season.

The upcoming matchup is the 63rd meeting between Auburn and Tennessee since 1980; Tennessee leads the series 50-12 overall and holds a 16-6 advantage in games played at Auburn.

In their most recent encounter on February 13, 2025, Tennessee defeated Auburn in Knoxville by a score of 99-61 despite DeYona Gaston’s double-double performance for Auburn.

Scouting reports indicate that Auburn ranks highly in defensive statistics nationally—32nd in scoring defense—and has held all opponents below their average point totals so far this season. Freshman Harissoum Coulibaly leads Auburn in scoring with an average of 11.1 points per game primarily off the bench but has started three of the last four games.

Redshirt junior Kaitlyn Duhon averages nearly ten points per game while ranking third in the SEC for steals per contest. Other key contributors include Khady Leye (9.1 points per game), Mya Petticord (10.8 points per game), Ja’Mia Harris, Quanirah Montague following her return from injury, A’riel Jackson, Syriah Daniels, Sania Richardson, Arek Angui, Angena Belloso, Clara Koulibaly from junior college ranks, and walk-on Eva Garabadian.

Following Sunday’s home contest against Tennessee, Auburn will travel to face No. 2 Texas Longhorns Thursday night at Moody Center in Austin.
