Auburn women’s tennis was ranked No. 3 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings on March 10, marking the highest position in program history.
The new ranking surpasses Auburn’s previous best of No. 4, which had been achieved on several occasions, most recently earlier this season and previously on March 7, 2017 and February 20, 2025.
“It is a huge achievement for our program to be ranked third by the ITA,” Auburn head coach Jordan Szabo said. “This team continues to make program history, and it is a testament to the work ethic of each player and their dedication to the program. We believe that breaking this record is just the beginning of what Auburn women’s tennis plans to achieve this season, and this ranking reflects our belief that we’re a national contender.”
Auburn began the season ranked fourth in the ITA preseason poll before dropping to No. 13 on February 19. The team then climbed back up to No. 5 by March 3. In addition to its ITA ranking, Auburn has held the top spot in all three UTR College Team Rankings polls released during the current season.
The Tigers have compiled a record of 21-1 overall and are undefeated at home with a perfect mark of 13-0. They have started conference play with five consecutive wins and have defeated five teams ranked inside the ITA top 15, including an away victory over No. 4 LSU last Saturday. Earlier in the year, Auburn qualified for its fifth straight appearance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship and reached the semifinals after defeating Northwestern and No. 9 NC State.
Looking ahead, Auburn will face No. 11 Tennessee on Thursday at Yarbrough Tennis Center.
