Auburn women’s tennis was selected as the No. 2 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Championship, according to an April 27 announcement from the NCAA. The Tigers will host the tournament’s opening rounds at Yarbrough Tennis Center on Friday and Saturday.

The selection marks a significant achievement for Auburn, which surpassed its previous highest seeding of No. 9 set last season. The team finished with a record of 32-3 and shared the Southeastern Conference regular-season title with a conference record of 13-2. Auburn also won its first SEC tournament title this year, reaching No. 1 in the ITA National Team Rankings.

Head coach Jordan Szabo said, “We are excited to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament again. It’s a great honor and not easy to do. Only 16 teams host, so we’re very excited about that. We get the opportunity to play in front of our home fans and our home environment, which is really special.”

“To be chosen as the No. 2 overall seed is incredible,” Szabo said further. “We’ve had such an amazing season with a lot of success and making a lot of history. We’ve given ourselves the upper hand by being able to host, but we need to get back to work and get ready to compete. We’ve had some awesome practices since coming back from the SEC championship and the girls are hungry to get out there Friday. We’re hoping for a great crowd at the Yarbrough Tennis Center to give us a home-court advantage until the final set.”

Auburn will play Bryant University on Friday at 1 p.m., while Miami (FL) faces North Florida earlier that day at 10 a.m.; winners will meet Saturday afternoon for advancement in regional play.

This year marks only the fifth time that Auburn has hosted opening round matches for women’s tennis at Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Admission is free for all three matches held during this regional round at Yarbrough Tennis Center; additional spectator information including parking details can be found online at AuburnTigers.com/MatchDay.
