Head Coach Steven Pearl announced on March 26 the appointment of Brian Kloman as the new General Manager of the Auburn University men’s basketball program.

Kloman brings extensive experience in player personnel and strategic initiatives, having worked directly with Pat Kelsey for the past 11 years. His background includes roles at Louisville, College of Charleston, and Winthrop.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brian Kloman to our program as our General Manager,” Pearl said. “Brian brings a unique combination of vision, energy and expertise that will immediately elevate our staff and strengthen our overall operation.”

Pearl credited Kloman with playing a key role in building successful programs alongside Kelsey. “He has been an integral part of Pat Kelsey’s success at every stop—from Winthrop to College of Charleston and now Louisville—helping build winning programs through relentless work ethic, innovation, and elite talent evaluation.”

While at Louisville, Kloman helped reconstruct a roster that achieved a 51-19 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances after inheriting a team that was previously 8-24. He also played an important role in recruiting Mikel Brown Jr., who became one of the top freshmen guards nationally and earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors.

Prior to his time at Louisville, Kloman was part of coaching staffs that compiled records of 75-27 at College of Charleston and 152-65 at Winthrop. Pearl highlighted his strengths: “What separates Brian is his ability to identify and assemble talent, build cohesive teams, and constantly find new ways to gain a competitive edge…his impact will be felt across every facet of our program.”

Kloman expressed gratitude for joining Auburn: “The moment comes in life when you have an opportunity to do something you have always wanted to do, this is one of those moments,” he said. “Serving Coach Pearl and this staff will be an absolute honor. Working everyday to make this Auburn Community proud will be on my mind every time I wake up on the Plains. Thank you to the Auburn administration, the basketball staff and Coach Pearl for this opportunity.”

Auburn’s men’s basketball team has recorded five consecutive seasons with more than twenty wins. This season marks Pearl’s second leading the Tigers.

“We are excited to add Brian to the Auburn family and look forward to the tremendous value he will bring to our staff and student-athletes,” Pearl said.
