Of the 2,943 people living in La Fayette city in 2019, 55.6 percent (1,636) were women and 44.4 percent (1,307) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Auburn Times.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 1,061-to-791. In the 65 and over age range, there were 202 females and 155 males.
