Football Notebook – Homecoming Information

Tuskegee football will be returning to Abbott Memorial Stadium for Homecoming on Saturday, November 5, 2022, as they host Miles in the final game of the regular season.

The Golden Tigers will return home after a pair of games being moved to the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, where they won both contests. While the program gains some normalcy, Tuskegee fans and alumni will experience a different look with the installation of new turf at Abbott Memorial.

A few tweaks have been made to the field’s previous design, with the word mark “Golden Tigers” that was in the north end zone has been moved to the south end zone (opposite Logan Hall) and replaced by “Tuskegee” in gold. Meanwhile, the word mark “Golden Tigers” is located in the north end zone, also in gold, atop a crimson end zone. The Tuskegee athletic logo remains in the center of the field while crimson tiger claw marks along each 25-yard line.

The turf project is just the beginning of a series of planned upgrades to various Tuskegee Athletic Department facilities that have either been completed or will soon be starter.

Projects include:

  • New scoreboard at Tuskegee Softball Field (completed)
  • Resurface courts and replace wind screens at Pepsico Tennis Courts (completed)
  • Daniel “Chappie” James Arena locker rooms
  • New football facility, including locker rooms, located outside end zone opposite Logan Hall
  • Athletic training facility and meeting rooms
  • New football scoreboard

Tuskegee fans can catch the first game on the new turf when Tuskegee hosts the Golden Bears for the 97th Annual Homecoming Game on Saturday, November 5, at 1 p.m. Purchase your tickets here.
