Golden Tigers pick up a pair of wins over the weekend at SIAC West Cluster

Tuskegee volleyball came away with two Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) wins over the weekend in the SIAC West Cluster, hosted by Kentucky State.
 
The Golden Tigers battled Lane in their first match of the cluster on Friday morning, falling in straight sets against the Dragons, before earning their first win of the year with a 3-1 win over LeMoyne Owen.
 
Chase Holloway (Madison, Ala.) had a career-game against the Magicians, finishing with 22 kills and four digs, followed by Keniah McRuffin (Red Oak, Texas) who added 13 kills and seven digs, while Keniyah Cleveland (Morena Valley, Calif.) finished with 11 kills and five blocks in the win.
 
Tuskegee took the first two sets of the game by scores of 25-22 and 25-15 before dropping the third set and ending the game with a 28-26 win in the fourth. Erin Jackson (Marrietta, Ga.) led the way defensively with 21 digs along with a pair of aces, while freshmen Mikea Allen (Montgomery, Ala.) and Jeilin Robinson (Tampa, Fla.) both finished with double-digit digs with 18 and 12 respectively.
 
In their first game today, the Golden Tigers took down the Marauders of Central State in five sets with a 3-2 win. After Central State took the first two sets of the game (25-16, 25-9), Tuskegee battled back and won the final three sets to take the win, with scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 15-12.
 
Jackson had another big game defensively, finishing with 20 digs along with three aces, followed by freshman Azariah Crosby (Merrillville, Ind.) who had her first double-double of her career with 18 assists and 11 digs. Allen also had another productive game, finishing with 20 assists and six digs, while Cleveland, Holloway and McRuffin all finished the match with nine digs.
 
Tuskegee rounded out weekend play against host team Kentucky State, dropping the match 3-1.
