Alex Irvine delivered the top score of the meet and Julianne Huff secured her fourth all-around title of the season as No. 15 Auburn scored 196.7 on March 13 during Senior Night at Neville Arena. No. 7 Missouri won the regular season finale with a score of 197.325.
The event marked an important close to the regular season for Auburn, highlighting both individual achievements and areas for improvement ahead of postseason competition.
Auburn coach Jeff Graba said, “Good approach at the end. You’re seeing a team that’s putting a little too much pressure on themselves. They feel some doubt, especially bars. The last two events were a pretty good representation of where we are. We’ve just got to eliminate some mistakes.”
Huff competed in the all-around for the tenth time this season, scoring a 39.25 to take first place overall. On vault, Olivia Greaves and Mia Leverton each posted scores of 9.8, while Marissa Neal and Huff followed with 9.85s. Paige Zancan earned Auburn’s highest vault score with a 9.9, sharing the event title with Missouri’s Hannah Horton.
Missouri led after bars with scores including two 9.9s and a 9.925, edging out Auburn’s lineup anchored by Irvine’s career-high-tying 9.95—the highest mark from either team that night.
“I knew coming into this meet that I had to rev it back up again,” Irvine said about her performance on bars. “Attack the same way I do in practice. It hasn’t done me wrong yet. It felt good seeing the score.”
On beam, Irvine again led Auburn with a score of 9.9 to share another event title, prompting Graba to say: “She’s so mentally tough… She’s really on her game.” Olivia Ahern opened beam with a 9.875—a score matched by Huff—while senior Hannah Hagle contributed a 9.75.
Auburn finished strong on floor exercise, matching Missouri’s rotation total behind Neal’s third floor event title of the season (a score of 9.925). Greaves anchored floor with a 9.875 while Ahern added a mid-lineup score of 9.85.
Looking ahead to postseason competition, Graba said: “It’s a good way to wrap up a regular season… We need to do that at SECs because the very next meet, it’s all or nothing.”
Auburn will compete next at the Southeastern Conference Championships scheduled for March 21 at Tulsa’s BOK Center.
