Four pallets of food were delivered to the Tuskegee University Tiger Den Food Pantry, located on the lower level of Tompkins Hall. The delivery included a variety of groceries such as cereals, peanut butter, canned soup, and other goods. The donation was organized by Kroger, whose staff from the Auburn store worked alongside student volunteers to unload and stock the pantry shelves.

In addition to the food items, Kroger provided $2,000 in gift cards for the university to purchase additional supplies as needed. Darrius Campbell, a manager at Kroger’s Auburn location, participated in the effort and said, “We should do it more than once a year.”

Abena Myers-Taylor, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at Tuskegee University, commented on the partnership: “Tuskegee University is proud to partner with organizations like Kroger to support our students through the Tiger Den Food Pantry. Our students who use the pantry and those who volunteer here appreciate Kroger’s continued partnership and generosity.”

The Tiger Den Food Pantry allows students to visit weekly and select up to six food items along with one personal or household item.
