Auburn track and field athlete Mekhi Dupree was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men’s Co-Runner of the Week, according to a March 24 announcement from the league office.
The recognition highlights Dupree’s recent achievement in collegiate athletics. Such honors are given to athletes who demonstrate outstanding performance during competition weeks.
Dupree, a sophomore from Pensacola, Florida, won the men’s 200-meter race at the Yellow Jacket Invitational over the weekend. He finished with a time of 20.34 seconds, which is currently the fastest collegiate time this season. The performance marked a personal best for Dupree and placed him as the eighth-best performer in Auburn school history for that event.
This is Dupree’s first SEC weekly honor since joining Auburn. It also marks Auburn’s first outdoor track weekly award since Israel Okon received similar recognition on May 6, 2025.
Auburn track and field will take a break before returning to competition at the Florida Relays scheduled for April 3-4 in Gainesville, Florida.
