Abdalla Nasr and Ethan Swart helped Auburn University’s men’s swimming and diving team move into 15th place with 30 points at the NCAA Championships on March 26, as reported from the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
The results highlight strong performances by both swimmers and divers from Auburn. Head coach Ryan Wochomurka’s team continues to compete with two days remaining in the championship.
Freshman Abdalla Nasr set a significant milestone by recording the second-fastest 100-yard butterfly time in program history at 44.65 seconds. This performance earned him a 12th-place finish overall and his second All-American Honorable Mention of the week. Daniel Krichevsky, also a freshman, posted a time of 1:32.06 in the 200 freestyle—making it the fourth-fastest swim ever for Auburn in that event—and finished in 20th place.
In other events, Uros Zivanovic achieved his best career finish so far with a time of 51.70 seconds in the 100 breaststroke to take home another top-20 result for Auburn. The relay team composed of Kalle Makinen, Sohib Khaled, Warner Russ, and Luke Bedsole completed their race with a time of 1:16.16 to secure nineteenth place in the 200 freestyle relay.
Ethan Swart stood out among Tiger divers by delivering two strong dives late in competition to rise into fourteenth place overall on the one-meter board with a score of 328.30 points—earning him All-American Honorable Mention recognition.
Friday’s events will include several races such as the men’s backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle sprints and relays as well as three-meter diving competitions.
