Freshman Abdalla Nasr and the Auburn Tigers concluded their run at the 2026 NCAA Championships on March 28, with Nasr breaking a school record in the 200-yard butterfly at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta. The team finished in 17th place overall, earning a total of 55 points.
Nasr, who had previously scored for Auburn in the 100-yard butterfly with a twelfth-place finish and All-American Honorable Mention status, advanced to finals in the 200 fly by swimming a program-best time of 1:39.59 during preliminaries. In finals, he placed eighth overall with a time of 1:40.68 and received First Team All-American honors.
The team’s last relay featured Luke Bedsole, Daniel Krichevsky, Warner Russ, and Kalle Makinen. They posted their fastest time of the season—2:48.64—to secure an eighteenth-place finish. In diving events, freshman Tsvetomir Ereminov made his first appearance at NCAAs and finished thirty-sixth on tower with a score of 300.70.
Head coach Ryan Wochomurka’s squad achieved two new program records over the course of the meet while collecting four top-10 swims and fifteen All-American honors from eight different athletes.
The results highlight strong performances from several swimmers including Bedsole (800 freestyle relay), Khaled (200 medley relay), Krichevsky (800 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay), Makinen (200 medley relay, 400 medley relay), Nasr (100 fly honorable mention; All-American honors in multiple events), Russ (200 medley relay honorable mention; part of relays), Swart (1-meter diving honorable mention) and Zivanovic (medley relays).
With these achievements at nationals—including individual milestones for Nasr—the Tigers demonstrated depth across both swimming and diving events.
