Auburn University announced on Apr. 6 that its No. 10 ranked baseball team will face No. 21 Jacksonville State at Plainsman Park, with the game scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The matchup is significant as both teams are nationally ranked and have demonstrated strong performances this season. Auburn holds a record of 22-9, while Jacksonville State enters the week with a record of 27-6 and an undefeated mark in Conference USA play.

According to Auburn, the Tigers have performed well in midweek games this season, posting a record of five wins and two losses, including four consecutive home victories where they outscored opponents by a combined total of 36-9. The team has also maintained a strong home presence with a 15-5 record at Plainsman Park and is currently on its eighth straight game against ranked opponents.

Auburn’s pitching staff leads the nation in several categories, including WHIP (1.09), strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.42), and walks allowed per nine innings (2.59). They are second nationally in earned run average (3.02). Starting pitchers have contributed significantly with a collective ERA of 2.40 over more than 165 innings pitched.

Jacksonville State brings one of the best records in college baseball into the contest, tied for second-most wins nationally and standing as one of only two teams unbeaten in conference play with ten or more victories. Offensively, they boast a .287 team batting average and have scored over two hundred runs this season.

The all-time series between these programs favors Auburn at twenty-eight wins to eighteen losses overall, including twenty-one wins at home against Jacksonville State’s fifteen.

The university also announced promotions for fans attending the game such as discounted hot dogs and beverages during Diamond Deal Days.
