Six Auburn University athletes were recognized for their performances at the recent Southeastern Conference (SEC) indoor track and field championships, which took place at Texas A&M. The honors are based on results in each event, with first team awarded to event winners, second team to runners-up, and third team to those finishing third. Ties in event standings are not broken for these selections.

Kayinsola Ajayi, Megan Hague, and Ja’Kobe Tharp earned spots on the All-SEC first team. Ajayi secured the men’s 60-meter dash title and matched the collegiate record in the process. Tharp claimed his second consecutive indoor title in the 60-meter hurdles. Hague made history as Auburn’s first female athlete to win a conference championship in a throwing event by taking the women’s shot put title.

Danae Nembhard and Alyssa Quinones-Mixon were named to the All-SEC second team. Nembhard won silver in the women’s 60-meter hurdles after setting a school record during the semifinals. Quinones-Mixon finished second in the women’s pole vault, marking her first podium finish at an SEC meet for Auburn.

Sophomore Israel Okon was placed on the All-SEC third team after earning bronze in the men’s 60-meter dash.

“Auburn had six athletes named to the All-SEC Indoor Track and Field Teams after their performances at the SEC indoor championships this past weekend on the campus of Texas A&M.”
