Tuskegee softball picked up two wins on Saturday in the SIAC Softball Crossover, the first a 10-0 win over Albany State, followed by a 11-1 win over Benedict to close out the day.

Kamya Hampton threw a gem on Saturday for the Tuskegee softball team to open the SIAC Crossover, not allowing a run and striking out 10 batters in the contest.
The Golden Tigers got things started in the opening inning, as Victoria Harrison singled with the bases loaded to bring home T’yauna Rector the first run. Myracle Hawkins drove in three more scores on the next at-bat with a single to right field to score Marissa Mitchell, Jada Chadwick, and Harrison to take an early 4-0 lead.
Tuskegee added to their lead in the second with a sacrifice bunt to score Rector for a second time, followed by scores from Hawkins and Dymond Brown in the third and fourth innings.
Nylah Strange-Lindley started the seventh off with a bunt single, later scoring to kick off three more runs for Tuskegee in the 10-0 final.
Tuskegee totaled 11 hits in the game. Myracle Hawkins and T’yauna Rector both collected three hits in the contest. In the field, the Golden Tigers didn’t commit an error and stole nine bases during the game.
Tuskegee 11, Benedict 1 (5 Inn.)
Alexis Paredes was clutch at the plate with runners on base in game two on Saturday, driving in six on two hits to lead Tuskegee past Benedict 11-1 in five innings. Paredes drove in runs on a walk in the first, a double in the second, and a double in the third.
The Golden Tigers fired up the offense in the first inning, with the Paredes walk to score one, followed by an RBI single from Mitchell to take the 2-0 lead.
Tuskegee added five runs in the second inning, with Mitchell, Paredes, and Chadwick all driving in runs in the frame. The team went on to add three in the third and final in the fourth for the run rule win.
Caroline Clark was credited with the victory for the Golden Tigers. The righty allowed just two hits and one run in her 4.2 innings of work while not allowing a walk in the contest.
