Lee County Youth Development Center Board applications available through June 27

A vacancy on the Lee County Youth Development Center Board was announced at the June 7 Auburn City Council meeting. The unexpired term will begin upon appointment and end Sept. 30, 2023.

The Lee County Youth Development Center is a private nonprofit established in response to the growing need for shelter and placement for abused and neglected children. The center strives to provide a high standard of quality care, innovative prevention and treatment programs and well-trained, qualified staff.

The board consists of 13 members, four of whom are from the City of Auburn. Members serve four-year terms. The board meets the third Monday of each month at noon in the Lee County Youth Development Center Board Room.

Those interested in serving may apply online using the link at auburnalabama.org/boards. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on June 27. The City Council will make an appointment at its July 5 meeting.
