Tuskegee looks to continue win streak against familiar face

After a high-scoring win last week over Allen in the SIAC opener, the Golden Tigers (2-2, 1-0 SIAC) will now look to remain unbeaten to start league play as they battle the Panthers of Clark Atlanta, led by former head coach and athletic director Willie Slater.

Tuskegee and Clark Atlanta will meet for the 82nd time in series history, dating back to the first meeting between the two programs in 1902. The two programs last met during the 2021 season, with Tuskegee taking a 21-0 win over the Panthers inside of Abbott Memorial Stadium.

Coach Slater spent the last 16 seasons at Tuskegee prior to his time with the Panthers, where he won more SIAC championships than anyone in the SIAC, earning him the title of SIAC Coach of the Year five times along with coaching 48 total All-SIAC players during his tenure with the Golden Tigers. He is also second in Golden Tiger history in wins with 123 total, trailing only former legendary coach Cleve Abbott during his tenure.
