Week ending Dec. 17, 2022: Three businesses registered in cities found in Chambers County

There were three businesses that registered in cities within Chambers County in the week ending Dec. 17, 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 50 percent more than the week before, when two businesses were registered.

Lanett registered the most businesses in Chambers County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
