Baseball Swept at Home by Kentucky State

The Golden Tigers baseball team was swept in a SIAC weekend series against Kentucky State, falling 7-5 on Saturday, before 11-5 and 7-5 again on Sunday afternoon, all held at Washington Field.
 
Kentucky State 7, Tuskegee 5
Tuskegee fell 7-5 to Kentucky State in game one on Saturday despite out-hitting them 13 to 12.
 
The Thorobreds opened up scoring in the first inning, with a two-out solo homer. Tuskegee responded to take the lead after loading the bases and scoring on a steal from Alex Glass in the second, followed by a sacrifice fly to center from Cyree Broughton to score Julian Greer in the third for a 2-1 lead.
 
Kentucky State took the lead for good with three runs in the fifth inning, including another solo bomb and a double to score another pair of runs before the close of the frame. They extended their lead to 6-2 heading into the bottom half of the seventh.
 
The Golden Tigers scored three runs in the seventh inning with both Harrison Barnes and Nicholas Pratt driving in runs in the inning, however they could not complete the comeback and KSU added a run for insurance in the eighth for the final score.
 
Jaylen Hill started the game for Tuskegee, lasting seven innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out five. Robert Snead threw two innings out of the bullpen.
 
The Golden Tigers saw the ball well in the loss, racking up 13 hits, including multiple form Broughton, Glass, Pratt, and Cody Willis. Broughton led with three hits in four at bats.
 
Kentucky State 11, Tuskegee 5
Tuskegee fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-5 loss to Kentucky State in game two, as the Thorobreds. scored on a single by Higgs in the first, before a score on a passed ball and lastly on a stolen base by in the second inning.
 
The Golden Tigers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Kentucky State, giving up 11 runs.
 
Tuskegee notched three runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower was led by Barnes, Glass, and Grier, who all drove in runs in the frame. However, the Thorobreds responded in the third with five more runs and three more in the sixth to take the significant edge.
 
Willis took the loss for the Golden Tigers. The pitcher went two and a third innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out one. Meanwhile, Glass went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in game two.

Kentucky State 7, Tuskegee 5
Another comeback effort fell short once again for the Golden Tigers after trailing by six runs in the seventh inning, falling 7-5 to Kentucky State in the third and final game on Sunday. Tuskegee scored four runs in the failed comeback on a walk by Jeremy Hawkins, a single by Glass, a bases loaded walk, and a stolen base by Hawkins.
 
The Golden Tigers fired up the offense in the second inning, when Torian Bunkley doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
 
The Thorobreds pulled away for good with three runs in the third, the first on a single on a 3-2 count, followed by a two-run homer before the close of the frame. They later scored three runs in the fifth inning.
 
Tuskegee notched four runs in the seventh inning led by four batters driving in runs. Barnes took the loss on the mound, lasting four innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out six. Meanwhile, Glass went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in the loss.
