Women more prevalent than men in Russell County in 2021

Of the 58,695 people living in Russell County, Alabama in 2021, 51.7% (30,343) were women and 48.3% (28,352) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Auburn Times.

Data showed the average age for women in Russell County in 2021 was 39 years, lower than the national average of 40 for women.

According to census data, women aged 18 and over outnumbered men in the same age group by 890. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 3,578 men and 4,870 women.
