4.2% of Lee County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Lee County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,555 people out of the 172,223 living in Lee County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Lee County has decreased compared to the 4.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Lee County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 80,100 people who had a job during that time, 741 were employed in the Armed Forces and 79,359 belonged to the civilian labor force.
