U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, serving Alabama's 3rd congressional district and Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has expressed his support for recent executive actions by President Donald Trump aimed at strengthening security along the southern border.
Rogers stated, "Border security is national security. The actions taken by President Trump are crucial to help stem the tide of illegal immigrants, lethal drugs, criminals, and terrorists crossing our southern border." He emphasized that increased assistance from the Department of Defense would be instrumental in aiding law enforcement agencies to secure the border effectively.
Furthermore, Rogers mentioned his eagerness to collaborate with both the President and fellow lawmakers on a reconciliation bill designed to offer a long-term solution for border security requirements. "I look forward to working with the President and my colleagues to enact a reconciliation bill that will provide a permanent solution to our border security needs," he said.
