Just over 90 years after the first ever meeting, Tuskegee will meet Lane this Saturday in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action in the Bluff City Classic in Memphis, Tenn. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. and has been moved to Crump Stadium.
The two programs have faced off 25 more times since the first meeting, and after a pair of Golden Tiger wins. In. 1930 and 1931, the two teams did not meet again until 1966 and 1967 and took another hiatus until Lane entered the SIAC.
The matchup against the Dragons will be one of the final three games for the Golden Tigers in the 2022 regular season, followed by their road matchup at Kentucky State on October 29, and rounded out with the 97th Annual Tuskegee Homecoming Game against Miles on November 5.

GAME NOTES
- Lane and Tuskegee have met 26 times in the series, with Lane picking up their first win of the series last year. The Golden Tigers had won 25 straight meetings prior to 2021.
- The matchup on Saturday is the third Classic the Golden Tiger have participated in, starting the season with the Red Tails Classic, along with playing in the Morehouse Tuskegee Classic earlier this month.
- The Golden Tigers control their own destiny in the conference standings, currently leading the SIAC West Division at 4-0. Their next three games are all division games with Lane and Kentucky State both at 3-1, followed by Miles who is 1-3 in SIAC action.
- Tuskegee had a pair of student-athletes earn SIAC Player of the Week for their play against Central State. Taylor was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Arnes Huskic (Jacksonville, Fla.) was named Special Teams Player of the Week. Taylor was also named BOXTOROW, LightsOn Sports and HBCU Gameday Player of the Week.
- Taylor is continuing to bolster his career numbers, as he surpassed the 1,500-yard career rushing mark as a Golden Tiger last game. The running back is currently at 1,610 yards, with a career mark of 6.1 yards per carry and 13 touchdowns. He is one of two runners with over 1,500 career yards, as Donte Edwards (Mobile, Ala.) is at 2,259 career yards between his time at Miles and Tuskegee.
- Tuskegee has climbed in the BOXTOROW HBCU Division II Coaches Poll for the. fourth straight week, this time being ranked No. 6 with 99 total votes, just ahead of Bowie State with 89, and behind Fayetteville State.
