Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine was highlighted on WSFA’s “Today in Alabama” during a segment aired early Wednesday. Reporter Bethany Davis visited the college’s barn to interview Dr. Ebony Gilbreath, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Melvin Freeman, who manages the barn and owns Dolly.

During the visit, Davis met Coco Chanel, a foal born earlier this month after her mother, Dolly, received months of care from veterinarians and students at Tuskegee. The birth is an example of the ongoing work by faculty and students at the college.

Dr. Gilbreath also took the opportunity to inform viewers about the range of services offered by Tuskegee’s small and large animal hospitals to people in the surrounding area.

The segment was produced with permission from WSFA.
