Independence Day closures, schedule changes

AUBURN, Ala.- Most City facilities will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Downtown parking will be free with the exception of the Wright Street Parking Deck.

Public Safety services will remain on their regular schedules. Garbage, trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day for Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's routes. Monday's route will run as usual.

The Auburn Public Library will be closed. Book drops will remain open, and the online collection of e-books, e-audiobooks and digital magazines are always available at auburnalabama.org/library.

All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed with the exception of Samford Pool and the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Samford Pool will be open for lap swim from 10 a.m.-noon and for recreation swim from 12:30-5 p.m. The Yarbrough Tennis Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon, but no clinics will be held. All Parks and Recreation parks, playgrounds and cemeteries will be open sunup to sundown.

The community is invited to Parks and Recreation's Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at 5 p.m. behind Duck Samford Stadium. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.
